Privacy Policy
Last updated 4 November 2026
This policy covers the Ametrum app for Android and the website at ametrum.com. Ametrum is made by Rimevo Soft ("we", "us"). It explains what data we collect, why, who processes it, how long we keep it, and how to get it deleted.
- We collect what the app needs to keep your records and sync them between your devices, plus crash reports so we can fix bugs.
- No ads, no advertising trackers, no data brokers. We never sell your data or use it for advertising. Usage statistics are collected only if you agree to them.
- Bank notifications the app reads stay on your phone. Only the rules you create from them are synced.
- Your data is stored in the EU (Frankfurt, Germany).
- You can delete your account and all its data at any time: here's how.
1. What we collect
| Data | What it is | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Account | Your email address, your password (stored only as a bcrypt hash, never in readable form), your home currency and app settings, and your plan. | To create your account, sign you in and provide the service. |
| Your financial records | Everything you enter: accounts, balances, transactions, categories, tags, notes, budgets, goals, debts and loans, recurring payments, investments, the names of people you record money with, and photos you attach to a record. | To store and sync your records across your devices. This is the service itself. |
| Notification rules | If you use bank notification capture, each rule you create and the one sample notification it was made from. | So your rules work on every device you use. |
| Device and app | The app version, and when the app last synced. | To keep sync working, and to know which app versions are still in use before we change the server. |
| Crash reports | When the app crashes or hits an error: what went wrong, the device model, Android version, app version, and a random identifier Sentry creates for this installation of the app. | To find and fix bugs. |
| Usage statistics (only if you agree) | Which screens and features you use, and when: for example "opened Budgets" or "added a transaction". Never the amounts, names or text of your records. | To learn which features help people and which confuse them. |
| Server logs | For each request to our servers: the IP address, time, and the address requested. | Security, to block abuse such as password guessing, and fixing faults. |
What stays on your phone
If you turn on bank notification capture, Android lets Ametrum read notifications only from the bank apps you choose. Those notifications, the 30-day history of them, and your list of chosen apps are stored on your phone and never sent to our servers. The one exception is the sample notification saved with a rule you create, described above. You can turn capture off, or clear the saved notifications, at any time in Settings → Bank notifications.
The copy of your records on your phone is kept in an encrypted database.
What we don't collect
We don't collect your location or contacts, and we don't connect to your bank. We don't use advertising IDs or advertising trackers. The app collects usage statistics only after you agree, and you can change your mind at any time in Settings. This website uses no analytics and sets no cookies.
2. Legal basis
For people in the EU, UK and similar jurisdictions:
- Contract: your account, your records and sync are processed to provide the service you signed up for.
- Legitimate interest: crash reports and server logs are processed to keep the service secure and working.
- Consent: reading bank notifications happens only after you turn it on and grant Android's notification access, and usage statistics are collected only after you agree to them. You can withdraw either at any time.
3. Who processes your data
We use these service providers. Each processes data only on our behalf, to run the service:
| Provider | What for | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Oracle Cloud | Our servers, database, attachment storage and backups | Frankfurt, Germany |
| Cloudflare | The secure connection between the app and our servers, and hosting this website. All traffic passes through it. | Global network |
| Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.) | Crash reports | EU data region (Germany) |
If we use an outside provider for usage statistics, we'll name it here before any data is sent to it.
Google provides app distribution and update checks through Google Play under Google's own privacy policy.
Exchange rates and investment prices are fetched by our server from public sources. No data about you is sent with those requests.
We may disclose data if the law requires it, such as a valid court order. If Ametrum is ever sold or transferred, this policy continues to apply to your data, and we will tell you first.
4. Who at Ametrum can see your data
Your records are encrypted in transit, but they are not end-to-end encrypted. Our server needs to read them to sync them, so our technical staff can access the database. We look at an individual person's data only when you ask us for help, when we investigate an error affecting your account, or when the law requires it.
5. Security
- All connections use TLS (HTTPS). The app refuses unencrypted connections.
- Passwords are stored as bcrypt hashes.
- The copy of your data on your phone is in an encrypted database.
- Servers and backups are in the EU and reachable only through our access controls.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your data, we will tell you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.
6. How long we keep data
| Data | Kept |
|---|---|
| Account and financial records | Until you delete them or your account |
| Nightly backups | 30 days, then overwritten. Data you delete leaves the backups within 30 days. |
| Crash reports | Up to 90 days |
| Usage statistics | Up to 12 months |
| Server logs | Up to 14 days |
7. Deleting your account
You can ask us to delete your account and all its data at any time. How to delete your account explains the steps, what is deleted, what is kept and for how long.
Uninstalling the app removes the data on your phone, but not your account or the data on our servers.
8. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- give you a copy of your data (access and portability; until export is built into the app, we send it to you by email);
- correct it;
- delete it;
- restrict or object to how we process it;
- stop processing based on your consent.
Email support@ametrum.com from the email address of your account, so we know the request is yours. We reply within one month. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live.
9. Children
Ametrum is not meant for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International transfers
Your data is stored in the EU. Cloudflare and Sentry are US companies. Where data passes outside the EU, it is protected by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard.
11. Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we update the date at the top. If a change affects how your data is used, we tell you in the app before it takes effect.
